BIG House Party — Community Loop

June 14, 2025 · Wellness Room · Live collaborative animation

A live illustration project built collectively with guests: pick a color, draw a shape, don’t overthink it. Each mark became part of a looping animation projected in the room.

For the BIG House Party, I created a live illustration project called Community Loop, an interactive animation built collectively with the people at the event. I set up a projector, my iPad, and a simple color palette in the wellness room and invited participants to add their own mark to a shared digital canvas.

Instructions: Pick a color and draw a random shape, don’t overthink it.

Over the course of the night, more than a dozen people contributed. Each drawing was animated into a short looping sequence, forming a collaborative piece of living art. While the party carried on around us, people would drop in, add their mark, and watch it become part of the projected animation in real time. Apart from that I also had my Pixel Art Animations in display when I was taking a break.

The result was a evolving visual loop that captured the collective energy of the night, emphasizing spontaneity, and the power of many small contributions.
